Equine Veterinarians

Equine veterinarians are responsible for preventive health care as well as treatment of diseases and injuries in horses. An equine veterinarian’s job can include administering vaccines to treating wounds and lameness, assisting delivery of a foal and even performing surgery. Equine veterinarians may specialize in a specific area of horse health care. Equine veterinary specialties include surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, theriogenology (reproduction), ophthalmology and many others.
