Measuring your wealth in animals

Here in the U.S., many people judge your status by the size of your home, the make of your car, or the labels on your clothing. But in many areas of the world, people’s worth is based on the number and type of animals they own…and disasters such as floods and severe weather can kill, injur and sicken so many animals that the economic damage to these people can be compared to a stock market crash. It’s an important reminder that livestock and agriculture play critical roles in the stability of a country’s economy.
