Companion Animals

Veterinarians focusing on companion animals diagnose health problems, vaccinate against disease, medicate animals, treat and dress injuries, perform surgery, and advise owners about various subjects like nutrition, behavior and breeding. More than 70 percent of veterinarians who work in private practice (predominately or exclusively) treat small animals which include companion animals as well as exotics.
